A Home That Remembers the Lord (Ps. 78:1-8)

Psalm 78 demonstrates that, from Moses to David, Israel repeatedly failed to believe God. Despite his abundant mercy and grace, they failed to trust his saving power, to keep the covenant, and to obey his law. And one of the fundamental causes behind Israel’s constant sin and rebellion was that they forgot the Lord their God (Ps. 78:11, 42; see Deut. 8:11). Therefore, the psalmist sets out to explain one of the most important ways of making sure that God’s people remember and never forget him: tell the coming generations of the Lord. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows that not only must we ourselves remember the works and the words of God, but our children also must hear the gospel of God so that they might come to trust and obey him.
