Spirit-Filled Marriage (Eph. 5:18-33)

What does it look like to be filled with the Spirit? Many answers are given in response to such a question. For some, it’s experiencing a replication of Pentecost. For others, it’s providing evidence of being endowed with particular spiritual gifts such as tongues or divine healing. Yet the Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 5, provides an entirely different answer: it’s addressing one another in song, giving thanks at all times, and “submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ” (Eph. 5:19-21). Being Spirit-filled means being continuously yielded to and controlled by the Holy Spirit, evidenced by a display of the His fruit in our lives in our loving submission to others (Gal. 5:22-23). In this sermon, Pastor Dave explores one of the most powerful and compelling ways in which a demonstration of being filled by the Spirit is clearly seen: marriages centered on Christ and fueled by the gospel.
